Irresistible BIG3 Rally
Sölden's BIG3 combine the following mountains and glaciers: Gaislachkogl (Giggijoch), Schwarze Schneide on the Rettenbach Glacier and the Tiefenbach Glacier. Sölden is the only ski region with 3 interconnected glaciers and therefore offers a very special skiing experience.
On the BIG3 Rally you will overcome 50km and an altitude difference of 10,000m. The unique tour starts at the Giggijoch cable car lower terminus and leads over the Giggijoch to the Rettenbach Glacier and over the Schwarze Schneide (3,340m) to a majestic mountain panorama.
As soon as you have taken in the views over the gigantic Ötztal mountains you continue on the Tiefenbach Glacier and will reach the next highlight, the Tiefenbachkogl, at 3,250m. The Gaislachkogl is then waiting for you at 3,059m, where you will be able to experience breathtaking views over the snow-covered mountain world.
Giggijoch-Gaislachkogl ski region
Ski runs for all levels await you on the famous Giggijoch, Sölden's local mountain. Here, at 2,200 metres, the skiing season starts already in November and lasts up until April, when you will still find best skiing and snow conditions here – whereas the snow already starts to melt under the spring sun everywhere else.
Wide and flat ski runs and sun throughout the day provide perfect conditions for beginners, who also want to give glacier skiing a try.
Tiefenbach Glacier ski region
16km of perfectly prepared pistes invite you to come skiing on the Tiefenbach Glacier. This glacier in the Ötztal Valley offers mostly easy ski runs, but also 4km of moderate pistes and 1km of black pistes for advanced skiers. Four tow lifts and two chair lifts take you up to 3,000 metres above sea level.
Rettenbach Glacier ski region
11km of perfectly prepared pistes await you on the Rettenbach Glacier. Glacier enthusiasts will find easy, moderate and black pistes for advanced skiers here. Three tow lifts and one chair lift take you conveniently up on the glacier.
