Fender family sheep farming
Edelweiss host Alexander Fender’s sheep farm comprises of around 50 Tyrolean mountain sheep – including dams, young animals and breeding rams. In summer, the animals spend happy hours on the alpine pastures around Hochsölden. The spacious stable above the hotel serves as their winter quarters. Mountain sheep have a long tradition as farm animals in the Alps.
Their pure white wool is extremely popular and they also provide tasty meat. At the ski hotel Edelweiss you can enjoy ribs, roll roast or mutton schnitzel produced by us. The close-to-nature husbandry of the sheep is no comparison to conventional conditions, as you will notice from the high quality of the meat.
