In the ski resort of Sölden-Hochsölden, the winter lasts for half of the year. From autumn to spring, sölden becomes a skier’s paradise in the Tyrolean Ötz valley. The season kicks off in early winter with the glacier ski area. Great slope conditions are the norm here from the autumn. The international skiing elite, who come to Sölden every year for the Ski World Cup Opening at the end of October, are also aware of this. From the middle of November the rest of the ski resort of Sölden follows suite and opens its slopes for all siers and snowboarders. There are 144 km of slopes to explore on skis or snowboard in Sölden. There are also plenty of sporting activities away from the slopes in and around Sölden and Hochsölden. Cross-country skiing, offers a different kind of skiing experience on the perfectly groomed tracks around Sölden.
